Fate or Free Will: Can You Really Have Both?

This is the argument I used for my Final Essay in British Literature.
We were examining Christian themes found throughout early British literature, such as Beowulf, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, and other such epic poems. So, when my professor asked that we write about one of these themes and provide an analysis of how our chosen theme can be seen even in modern times, I picked the topic of Divine Predestination.
